Modern electronics are generally regarded as extremely reliable but components and circuits can alter their characteristics, deteriorate with age and
can even become corrupted by other equipment.
Also certain items such as batteries and relays do have a finite life. Regular routine servicing can often result in faults being diagnosed before they actually manifest themselves and this can therefore save secondary damage. This can therefore avert a failure and consequential loss before the fault becomes apparent.
The following work should be carried out regularly by our trained and experienced personnel: -
- Check the battery back-up power changeover relays.
- Check regulated voltage and charging current
- Check battery condition – both physical and internal values.
- System performance & operation both generally and on power failure
A faulty battery can damage the power supply PCB. The result of this is both an expensive repair and a failure to operate in the
event of a power failure.
Other advantages of servicing include:-
- Shows that unit has been tested and inspected in line with animal welfare (Welfare of Livestock Regulations 1990) and insurance
requirements. Obviously customers should be carrying out a physical inspection and test every week two.
- Preventative servicing is designed to avoid the inconvenience and expense of emergency callouts and repairs.
- Helps to show due diligence should you have a loss
